My Story

I never imagined food allergies would change the course of my life.

Like most first-time moms, I thought my biggest worries would be sleepless nights, first steps, and figuring out this whole parenting thing.

Then, when my daughter was just five months old, everything changed.

After I unknowingly touched her with traces of egg on my fingers, hives spread across her tiny body.

Within weeks, we found ourselves in an allergist's office.

Skin testing.

Blood work.

Words I'd never heard before.

Anaphylaxis.

Cross-contamination.

Epinephrine.

I remember walking back to my car after that appointment, buckling my daughter into her car seat, and just sitting there in silence.

"What do I do now?"

That moment divided my life into two parts.

Before food allergies.

And after.

As the years went on, my daughter's list of allergies grew. Then came another surprise—our twin boys were also diagnosed with food allergies.

Today, all three of my children navigate life with severe food allergies.

People often ask how we manage it.

The truth is...

You learn one label at a time.

One birthday party.

One school meeting.

One vacation.

One difficult conversation.

One victory.

Until one day you realize the things that once terrified you have quietly become your normal.

Along the way, I also learned that food allergies were only part of our story.

My daughter struggled with eczema as a baby, and I became obsessive about everything that touched her skin.

I changed detergents.

Switched lotions.

Read every ingredient label.

Searched endlessly for clothing that felt gentle enough for her sensitive skin.

That's when I discovered bamboo.

Not because I was looking to start a business.

Because I was simply looking for one less thing that might make her uncomfortable.

Lush & Luna wasn't born because I wanted to create another clothing brand.

It was born because I wanted another parent to feel less alone than I did.

Today, Lush & Luna is still home to thoughtfully designed apparel.

But it's also become something bigger.

A place to share stories.

To raise awareness.

To advocate for inclusion.

To remind parents that they're not carrying this invisible weight by themselves.

Because if there's one thing this journey has taught me, it's this:

The greatest gift we can give one another isn't perfect advice.

It's feeling understood.

I'm so glad you're here.

With love,

Sarah
